blogsFYI: Film Your Issue For Your Information from ChansalyThis is my first blog ever. Today, Scott from USAToday came to speak at our general body meeting and presented the idea of FYI: Film Your Issue. I was running an errand for him at the time so I missed most of his presentation so in case anyone wanted more information on this truly significant opportunity we have, here's some quotes from an article about last year's event I was reading from earlier this morning: "Film Your Issue entries continue to pour in from enthusiastic 16 to 25 year olds from around the globe. FYI - Film Your Issue, an unprecedented Internet-based global competition sponsored by some of the leading global media companies and cause organizations - Yahoo!, Jumpcut, a Yahoo! company, USA TODAY, Starz, Universal Pictures, The United Nations Department of Public Information (UNDPI), The Humane Society of the United States, The Natural Resources Defense Council and ASCAP - asks young adults a poignant question: "What's Your Issue?" empowering them to add their voices to the public dialogue on pressing contemporary issues. The competition provides a vivid snapshot of what's on the minds of young people today and highlights the way that today's technology enables every individual to have a media voice."
