Student Senate Special Allocation Funding

Student Senate has over $70,000 to fund the assortment of campus-wide events, off-campus trips and competitions, and necessary equipment for athletic teams or service groups. The main objective for the Finance Committee is to approve special allocation requests that benefit the Carnegie Mellon University student body and campus community. Within your special allocation request, you should always communicate to the Finance Committee and to Student Senate how funding your event or project benefits the campus community.

Reserve a Meeting with the Finance Committee

In order to request a special allocation from Student Senate, please contact the Finance Committee Chair at funding-recognition@andrew.cmu.edu. The chair will reserve a date for your organization to meet with the committee. Please confirm that you will attend the meeting at the reserved date and notify the chair if you plan to cancel or change your reservation.

When meeting with the committee, you should come prepared and bring 6 copies of the following required materials:

JFC line-item budget (if applicable)

Make sure that the event or project materials you are requesting funding for is not already covered by your JFC budget. If your organization has a JFC budget, you may view it here

Budget Spreadsheet for the Event

The budget spreadsheet should include all the expenses for your event or project and any current or anticipated income or revenue for the event.
